Born and raised in Reno, Dr. Kanellos trained extensively for ten years out of state before returning to his hometown to practice urology. While he treats the full range of urologic conditions, Dr. Kanellos has developed a particular interest in caring for prostate cancer patients and has expertise with prostate cancer diagnosis, medical management and surgery.

Dr. Kanellos is Board Certified by the American Board of Urology and is a pioneer in the use of the da Vinci Robotic System for radical prostatectomies, having performed more than 1,000 of these procedures. He is co-director with Dr. Freeman of Urology Nevada’s Advanced Prostate Cancer Clinic, the region’s leading prostate care center.

Married with two children, Dr. Kanellos is passionate about living and practicing in his hometown, where he also enjoys exploring the Sierra Nevadas on bike and skis.
