Meet Our Physicians

Ross Anderson, MD

ROSS ANDERSON, MD

Dr. Anderson completed medical school at the Oregon Health and Science University after his undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon. He is fellowship trained in genitourinary reconstructive surgery by the University of Utah, where he also completed his urology residency. Dr. Anderson is a member of the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons and the American Urologic Association. He has training in minimally invasive surgery with robotic and laparoscopic techniques. Dr. Anderson treats conditions specific to female and male genitourinary organs. His clinical interests include urethral stricture, ureteral strictures, prosthetics, incontinence surgery, erectile dysfunction surgery, upper tract reconstruction, urinary diversion, radiation injury, microscopic surgery, robotic surgery, as well as general urology.

Dr. Anderson enjoys spending time with his wife and dog hiking, running, skiing, camping and spending time outside.

John A. Freeman, MD

JOHN A. FREEMAN, MD

Dr. Freeman is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and completed medical school in his home state at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed a urology residency training program at the University of Southern California, and subsequently was accepted into a two year Urologic Oncology Fellowship at the Kenneth Norris Cancer Center at the University of Southern California. Following his fellowship training Dr. Freeman was the director of the clinical aspects of the Urologic Oncology program at the University of North Carolina before relocating to Reno in 1999.

Dr. Freeman has been performing robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery, primarily on cancer patients, since 2008. His practice primarily focuses on the care of patients with urologic cancers, and men with prostate enlargement. He continues to care for a broad spectrum of urologic conditions in addition to these.

Dr. Freeman is Board Certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the Society of Urologic Oncology. He is married to his medical school classmate, Pam, and has four children – one of whom (Abby) works as a Physician Assistant at Urology Nevada. He enjoys golf, skiing, and being outdoors in the Sierras.

Roland R. Goode, MD

ROLAND R. GOODE, MD

Dr. Goode earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in 2004. He then completed his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 2008. He completed his urology residency training at the University at Buffalo in 2013. He focuses his practice on treatment of kidney stones, erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease, enlarged prostate, overactive bladder, incontinence, and pediatric urology.

Dr. Goode is originally from Virginia, but grew up in a military family, moving frequently throughout the US and abroad. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Switzerland and France and enjoys speaking French when the opportunity arises. His wife Erika is a native of Reno. They have five children. He enjoys traveling with his family, music, and playing volleyball, tennis and pickleball.

David E. Hald, MD

DAVID E. HALD, MD

Dr. Hald earned his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from California State University, Fullerton. He completed his medical degree at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine in 1990. After two years of general surgery residency at the University of Nevada, School of Medicine, he transferred and completed his urological surgery residency at the University of California, Irvine. He also completed advanced training in Male Infertility and Sexual Dysfunction at the University of California, Los Angeles where his training included advanced microsurgical techniques as well as the surgical management of Peyrone’s disease.

Dr. Hald is board certified by the American Board of Urology and has held numerous leadership positions and served on various Boards and Commissions in the local and state medical community. He is a past President of the Nevada State Medical Association and the Washoe County Medical Society. His urological interests include all aspects of Adult and Pediatric Urology.

Dr. Hald is married to Amanda and has three children. In his free time, he enjoys fly fishing, snow skiing, mountain biking, hiking in the Sierra Nevada canyons and Reno foothills.

Angelo W. Kanellos, MD

ANGELO W. KANELLOS, MD

Dr. Angelo Kanellos was raised locally graduating from Reno High School and the University of Nevada, Reno. He moved to Los Angeles for both medical school and urology residency training at the University of Southern California. After completing 10 years of training he returned to Reno to practice. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the Society of Robotic Surgeons.

While practicing most aspects of urology, he has developed a keen interest in caring for prostate cancer patients. He has expertise with prostate cancer diagnosis, medical management, and surgery. As an early adopter of robotic surgery in 2008 he has extensive experience with the da Vinci robot. His case log for robotic radical prostatectomy places him in the top 10% nationwide. For management of advanced disease he is co-director with Dr. Freeman of Urology Nevada’s Advanced Prostate Cancer Clinic.

He is married with two children and has enjoyed living and practicing in his hometown. When not working he enjoys being in the mountains on a bike or on skis.

Remy Lamberts, MD

REMY W. LAMBERTS, MD

Dr. Remy W. Lamberts was raised here in Northern Nevada where he attended Reno High School playing varsity soccer, mountain biking, skiing, and windsurfing. His parents, Dr. Eric Lamberts and Dr. Karen McDermott, are both primary care physicians in the area and instilled the importance of kindness, compassion, and integrity in medicine. After obtaining his Bachelors of Science, majoring in physics with a minor in mathematics, he spent a year and a half in France in one of the premier diabetes labs doing research on islet cell transplantation.

Moving back to Reno, he attended University of Nevada School of Medicine where he was awarded “best student in surgery” in his class and was additionally elected to the Alpha-Omega-Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed his six year residency in Urology at Stanford Hospitals & Clinics where he participated in research on health policy, MRI fusion biopsy, kidney stone disease winning the WSAUA health policy essay contest and publishing six peer reviewed journal articles. His training covered the breadth of general urology but had emphasis on cutting edge ureteroscopic technology, Da Vinci robotic procedures for kidney and prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and minimally invasive therapies for enlarged prostates.

He is excited to be back in Reno with his family, serving his community, and enjoying the recreational and outdoor opportunities in the area! He is most recently engaged to Lyndsay Budak and they look forward to raising a family here together in this blossoming city and community.

Matthew C. McCormack, MD

MATTHEW C. MCCORMACK, MD

Dr. McCormack earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from Princeton University, and his medical degree at Stanford University in 2001. Following, he completed his urologic residency at Stanford, where his training included laparoscopic renal surgery, robot assisted laparoscopic techniques using the da Vinci® Surgical System, and other minimally invasive techniques in the treatment of urologic disease. Dr. McCormack is board certified by the American Board of Urology, and is a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.

In addition to cancer and stone disease, Dr. McCormack’s clinical interests also include men’s health, notably hormone replacement therapy, as well as voiding dysfunction. He incorporates state of the art treatment techniques, including Urolift® and Green Light photovaporization for prostate, as well as botox for bladder.

He moved to Reno in 2007 with his wife and two children, where he has continued to participate in triathlons and open water swimming.

TIMOTHY SUTTLE, MD

TIMOTHY SUTTLE, MD

Dr. Suttle completed medical school at the University of Oklahoma after his undergraduate studies at Humboldt State University. He then completed his residency at the University of Toledo in 2016 and practiced in Ohio for the following 5 years. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urologic Association. He has received extensive training on the da Vinci robotic system and his clinical interests include minimally invasive treatment of urologic cancers, kidney stone disease, male & female incontinence and general urology.

In his free time, he enjoys winter sports, hiking, attending concerts and seeking out new restaurants with his significant other, Kayla.

CHRISTOPHER TAM, MD

CHRISTOPHER TAM, MD

Dr. Tam attended UC San Diego on a Regents Scholarship, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and cell biology. He then obtained his MD degree with research distinction from Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. He went on to complete his urology residency at the University of Michigan. During his medical education and residency training, he published many peer-reviewed journal articles, received several awards including the St. Joseph Mercy Resident of the Year Award, and was an active member of the American Urological Association. Dr. Tam also excels clinically and practices general urology with a special interest in stone disease, minimally invasive surgery, and robotic surgery with the Da Vinci system. He joined Urology Nevada in 2022 and is eager to serve the community with the highest level of care.

Dr. Tam was born and raised in the East Bay of California. Outside of his medical practice, he enjoys cross country running, playing ultimate frisbee and pickleball, dancing, studying chess, and spending time with his family and friends.

Dimitar Zlatev, MD

DIMITAR ZLATEV, MD

Dimitar Zlatev, MD, MS, is a urologic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of genitourinary cancers using open, robotic, laparoscopic, and endoscopic surgical techniques. His research focuses on the application of computational methods to the analysis, interpretation, and utilization of oncology data for genitourinary malignancies.

Dr. Zlatev holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Tufts University, with an emphasis on computational biology. He earned his MD from Northwestern University and trained in General Surgery and Urology at Stanford University. He completed fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the Combined Harvard Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he was awarded the best clinical research award at the annual Harvard Medical School Surgery Research conference.

Dr. Zlatev’s clinical practice focuses on the surgical treatment of genitourinary cancers, with a particular emphasis on bladder cancer, prostate cancer, and kidney cancer. He utilizes all available surgical techniques, including open, robotic, laparoscopic, and endoscopic surgery. His research interests focus on the utilization of computer science and computational biology methods to gain insight into improving and optimizing the perioperative care of patients undergoing surgical treatment for genitourinary cancers.
